That’s a bit different and there a plenty of ppl with mixed heritage now, including me (mixed with about 7 diff things). But when it comes to a community like Indigenous, who’s culture, language and living experience is completely different, no one else can speak for them. And it’s also about how the world, as I said in the piece, sees you. If you walk the world as white, and receive privilege as white (which is the group that continues to destroy these communities) you don’t have the experience nor right to speak for the marginalized communities. Let them speak up and amplify their voices. Mix heritage will do nothing to change the dynamics because whiteness is still favored. I’ve seen many Indigenous ppl online still hurting bc of what Warren did. Until she does right by them, to their standard not our “oh she apologized, good enough” standard, she is failing. You fail one group, you fail us all.
