See this is the issue. When someone talk about a separate safe space for Black ppl or other groups that are consistently targeted by white society, all I hear is separate everything all of a sudden. My point is Black ppl are entitled to a safe space without white ppl in it. Women are entitled to a safe space without men in it. LGBTQ are entitled to a safe space without cis in it.

What white ppl are basically saying is if they be a part of all disadvantaged spaces then we should be separate completely bc it’s just not fair.

If we want a separate space to talk about our experiences in society without white ppl that should not be an issue. If it is, they are not listening nor understanding.

And when it comes to making a space to help disadvantaged, don’t go in with “colorblindness” as your guide. If you don’t see race, you don’t see us.
