Prejudice is judging someone based on someone’s appearance, Race, ethnicity etc. It means to pre-judge i.e. judge beforehand. Discrimination is based on prejudices oftentimes. Racist is someone who commits racist acts, but as I said because it is ingrained in society and encompasses prejudices not every racist comment is the act of a racist. When they refuse to acknowledge their unconscious biases and continue sinking deeper then they are racist. And no I have purposely avoided purchasing that book because I make a choice to support fellow Woman of Color who are writing on this topic. We don’t fault people for their unconscious behaviors, we fault them when the behavior is brought to their attention and they refuse to change. You won’t be swaying me on this so…
