I agree. Meritocracy especially the requirements of work are incredibly ableist. People side-eye people who don't work full-time hours or hustle past that. It disregards that not everyone can and disabled people should not be considered less just because they don't work "x" amount of hours. Our lives are spent working to survive.

For those who have weekends off, they use one day for chores and essential shopping, the other is either spent resting or trying to go out with friends. How much of our lives are wasted not living life? Not learning about ourselves and others? Just because someone is common doesn't make it normal.

That's for able-bodied ppl. The rest can rarely survive financially because jobs don't want to be accessible, which should be a standard for all jobs. So yeah meritocracy favors work and the amount spent working so it is definitely ableist.
