Exactly. Racism is so ingrained that mistakes will happen but refusing to be aware or acknowledge the racist behavior just compounds it. I’ve had discussions with white friends and I’ve only had one (so far) who didn’t make a racist misstep. Of the ones who did, one acknowledged their mistake on one occasion(we still debate whether white people can experience racism). One got so defensive that I basically kept all conversation after that basic and monosyllabic.
