Agreed. That’s the thing. We know that a white friend is going to make a mistake. The problem comes from their reaction to being called out. Rather than trying to learn from it they tack on all these other racist behaviors. Some do learn but it’s rare. If they taught more of it in schools along with all that comes with it (gaslighting, microaggressions) it would help people to at least be more aware.
